NSW: Brogden says 24 gov't boards would go if he was premier
New South Wales Opposition leader JOHN BROGDEN says if he becomes premier he will save
the state $30 million each year by abolishing at least 24 government boards.
RailCorp and Sydney Water head Mr BROGDEN's hit list.
He says the boards of State Transit, Hunter Water, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority
and 17 area health services will also go.
Mr BROGDEN says the clean out will restore ministerial accountability in public agencies.
He says under the CARR government there are about 1,000 boards and committees with
more than 5,000 members.
