NSW: Alleged service station bandit to appear in court

A man who allegedly used a blood-filled syringe to terrorise 20 service station attendants
during a spree of late night hold-ups in Sydney has been arrested.

Police say the 23-year-old has been charged with 33 offences, including 13 counts of
illegally using a car after being arrested by strike force detectives at Newtown last night.

Police say the man, from Kogarah in Sydney's south, is alleged to have embarked on a
robbery campaign targetting fuel stations along the Princes Highway in the past two months.

He is expected to appear in Newtown Local Court this afternoon.
