Vic: Man in court charged over terror plot
MELBOURNE, Aug 4 AAP - A man charged with planning a suicide terrorist attack on a
NSW army base has appeared in court amid tight security.
Nayef El Sayed, 25, of Glenroy, is the first man charged over the conspiracy which
has so far led to five arrests following raids on properties in Melbourne and Victoria's
southwest on Tuesday morning.
El Sayed appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court charged with conspiring with four
men and other unknown people to do acts in preparation for an armed attack on the Australian
army base at Holsworthy, in western Sydney.
